Welcome

I knew I had a stroke two years ago. I was ready to deal with it. My uncle had a stroke a few years before, and he described how he felt, and what he did at the time.

“Get a pen and paper, try and write your name, you can’t…”. I remembered this, maybe I practiced it. But it worked. Twenty minutes later I was in a CAT scan machine in the Texas Medical Center. I was the captain of my ship.

I was in the hospital for 3 weeks. The right side of my body was paralyzed. But other than a newly developed nasty temper (regretfully, with my wife), I was mentally OK. I had a strong feeling of gratitude. I had excellent medical care.

What I needed was community, and a path to a peaceful future. I did feel isolated. I had “inner conservations” same as you, but they were now “echo chambers”. I envisioned support for those on the road to stability, or if lucky, recovery. Information, community (a forum) and a marketplace is what we provide. This journey has led me to start SRE. I hope you find it beneficial.
